Jimi Hendrix's 'Live At Monterey' given release date

Legendary performance to be released on DVD

Jimi Hendrix's 'Live At Monterey' given release date

Jimi Hendrix will be celebrated in DVD format in October when his legendary 1967 Monterey Pop Festival performance hits the shelves.

'Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey' will be issued as a DVD on October 29.

The special edition DVD features all of the existing film footage from the concert, newly transferred from the original 16mm camera reversal original.

The concert footage has been re-edited, making this the first time Jimi Hendrix's legendary performance has been captured on DVD in its original performance sequence.

In addition, the Definitive Edition DVD also includes several bonus features including a new documentary entitled 'American Landing', which traces Jimi's rise from obscurity to his US debut at the Monterey Pop Festival, 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey: A Second Look' that enables viewers to view the concert via different camera angles, and 'Music Love and Flowers', a behind-the-scenes documentary about the origins of the Monterey Pop Festival.

The release also features rare performance footage of Hendrix performing 'Stone Free' and 'Like A Rolling Stone' in Chelmsford on February 25, 1967.
