Lily Allen to make public performance return with Robbie Williams duet – ticket details

The London show will see Williams airing material from his new album 'Swings Both Ways'

Lily Allen and Rufus Wainwright are both set to perform alongside Robbie Williams next month at London’s Palladium venue.

The gig will mark the public live return of Lily Allen, who is set to release a new album in 2014. Though she performed her song ‘Smile’ at an exclusive Paris Fashion Week event in February, her most recent public stage performances took place in the summer of last year with other artists, duetting with Professor Green at The Stone Roses’ Heaton Park show and singing with Pink for an episode of VH1’s Storytellers.

Tickets for the November 8 show go on sale at 10am on October 28 via Robbiewilliams.com. The show will also feature guest appearances from The Muppets’ Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog. The gig is being filmed for BBC1.

The show will see Robbie Williams‘ debuting his brand new album ‘Swings Both Ways’, which is set to feature a duet with Lily Allen. The pair sing the classic ‘Dream A Little Dream’, which has previously been performed by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, The Mamas & The Papas, Doris Day, The Courteeners and Chapel Club. Speaking about the cover, Allen commented: “‘Dream A Little Dream’ is one of my favourite songs of all time so I didn’t hesitate when Robbie asked me if I’d like to duet with him on it. I was a bit nervous when we recorded it, especially when I asked him what he wanted me to do and he said something like ‘just be you’. But I’m really happy with it and think we do justice to a classic song.”

Rufus Wainwright also features on the album, which is released on November 18, as does Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs and Michael Buble. The record sees Williams covering jazz standards such as ‘Minnie The Moocher’, ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’ and ‘I Wan’na Be Like You’.
