The track is taken from the band's upcoming new album 'Megaplex'
We Are Scientists have shared a lyric video for their new song, ‘Not Another Word’.
The track is taken from the band’s sixth album, ‘Megaplex’, which they are set to release on April 27 via 100% Records.
The lyric video features a seemingly shocked ginger and white cat. You can watch it below. Of the track, frontman Keith Murray said in a press release: “It occurred to me that a good way of slipping out of unpleasant interactions might simply be to put on a good, danceable tune. Nobody likes to chat while they’re dancing, and, anyway, it’s hard to deliver an incisive counterpoint over a banging beat.”
He continued: “I like to think that this song might be an aid to anyone who finds themselves under conversational siege – rather than put up their defences and really get into an argument, they can take their debate partner’s hand, lure then onto the dance floor, and sing along, imploring them to simply drop the subject, together.”
The band previously shared the futuristic single ‘One In One Out’ from the upcoming album. Speaking to NME, Murray said: “At this point in our career, we’ve written so many songs that we know exactly what we want out of a We Are Scientists record.
“We want it to be taut, to bang hard, to have a big hook every four seconds or so. We don’t have to be precious about which songs make it onto a record; we can listen to the ones that didn’t make it at home, on our own time. ‘Megaplex’ is just the ten most delicious songs that we have — a stacked-up compound of entertainment.”
