Harry Styles hoping to win Villain Of The Year at NME Awards One Direction Tickets
Boyband member faces competition from David Cameron, Skrillex and more
One Direction member Harry Styles has said that he would love to bag the title of Villain Of The Year at this year's NME Awards.
Styles is nominated for the award, which was shortlisted following a reader vote, alongside Prime Minister David Cameron, 'Gangnam Style' man Psy, Skrillex, Fred Macpherson of Spector and rapper Azealia Banks. The Daily Mirror quotes the boyband star as saying that he is "buzzing" about the nomination and adding: "I hope I win. You've got to take the rough with the smooth but I don't really feel like I've done anything that bad. Should be fun!"
The Awards, which will take place on Wednesday, February 27 in its new home at London's Troxy, will honour new bands, cult heroes and rock legends across 22 different categories voted for by music fans.
The Rolling Stones lead this year's nods with nominations in four categories (Best Live Band, Best Book, Music Moment Of The Year, Best Music Film) while two never before nominated acts Tame Impala and Haim have also bagged four nominations.
Meanwhile, One Direction were among the winners at France's NRJ Awards earlier this month. The boyband took home the award for Best International Group joining fellow winners including Psy, Rihanna and Bruno Mars.
