Santigold has confirmed that she will record a collaboration with Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt.
The singer had previously teased that she could be tempted to work with the rapper after they exchanged messages on Twitter. Sweatshirt sent her a message saying "the track is ridiculous… I'll send it soon", to which she replied: "Sick! Can't wait…"
She has now confirmed that they are set to work on a track together and it could be released in the future, telling Pitchfork:
It sounds like a fun collab! If it turns out dope, you'll hear it!
Santigold will release her new album 'Master Of My Make-Believe' this spring. Earlier this week (February 27), she claimed that she was "disappointed with the state of music right now", adding: "I think there's a lack of true art, and the fanfare is valued over actual substance. It's like you don't have to make good music to be fucking huge."
You can hear her tracks 'Big Mouth' and 'Disparate Youth' by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Earl Sweatshirt, meanwhile, seems unlikely to appear on the new Odd Future album 'OF Tapes Vol 2' after he was not mentioned on the LP's new tracklisting. The album, which will feature new material from Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain and The Internet will be released on April 19.
