LCD Soundsystem 08 february 2007

Academy, Manchester, March 10

James Murphy might look far more like a stand-up comedian than the leader of the original disco-punk collective, but seriously folks, tonight he’s doing his level best to rearrange the atoms in the ears of everyone within hearing range. Punching in with ‘Us V Them’, LCD Soundsystem dispense with the clipped blips and bloops of their records and substitute them with a juggernaut of sound so fearsome it frightens the onstage PA and monitors to death by the end of the night. A live performance like this adds another dimension to new album ‘Sound Of Silver’, most evident on the missing link between Talking Heads and The Fall that is ‘Get Innocuous!’. Go see.
