Check Out These Classic Album Covers Given A Cool ‘Star Wars’ Twist

Music and movies fan Steven Lear runs an Instagram account called @WhyTheLongPlayFace where he shares his “random vinyl/movie mash ups” – generally, they’re riffs on classic album covers featuring popular characters from iconic films, and generally they’re very good indeed, which is why the account now has nearly 20,000 followers.

Lear doesn’t limit himself to one genre of movie, and some of the album covers he “remixes” are more famous than others, but we reckon these Star Wars mash-ups are among the very best he’s shared so far.

C3PO x ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’:

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca x Blur’s ‘The Best Of’:

Jar Jar Binks (yes, really) x Iggy Pop’s ‘The Idiot’:

The Siths x The Smiths’ ‘Meat Is Murder’. This one had to happen, right?

Boba Fett x Joan Jett’s ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’:

And finally, our personal favourite, Rey x Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’. Genius.

If that still isn’t enough for you, and you want to see a Mad Max x Michael Jackson mash-up, check out @whythelongplayerface on Instagram or via the accompanying website.
