The Hot List – Inside This Week’s NME (May 26)

In this week’s NME we’ve compiled the first ever NME Hot List – our gauge of what’s most exciting right now in music, from bands to producers to rappers to anthems to Tweeters, and everything in between. Including The Cribs: the hottest live band in the country right now.

As part of our Hot List we spoke to some extremely hot directors, Focus Creeps: the LA duo who have become Arctic Monkeys, Spector and Girls’ video team of choice and also make the most NSFW clips this side of Hugh Hefner’s DVD cabinet.

Perhaps most excitingly though, we’ve dived into the world of Pond – the hottest new band in the world. Seriously, this Australian rag-tag psych-rock lot are tearing up everything in their path – we suggest you get the issue to find out why.

Also in the issue we’ve got an exclusive preview of Pete Doherty’s new solo album, after he invited us to an all-night recording session the other week. Check it out to find out which songs are being knocked into shape, why he’s obsessed with the accordion, and also what the latest on his debut novel is.

We’ve also got loads of pictures and a report from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ invasion. We all want leather skirts like Kanye now, too.
