We’ve said it once, so we’ll say it again: you need this band in your life.
Highly Suspect are a Grammy-nominated three-piece from Cape Cod, Massachusetts who aimed high with their debut album, ‘Mister Asylum’, and found plenty of acclaim in their native US, topped off with awards nods for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song (for the single ‘Lydia’). Not a bad start to a career in rock’n’roll, we think you’ll agree.
We wanted to see what all the hype across the pond was about, so, in early February, we invited the trio to play a session in the NME basement with a set that included their latest single, ‘Serotonia’. A stand-alone release intended to thank their fans back home for making their debut a success, its sprawling, loud-quiet dynamic is quite a thing to behold – and that’s before you’ve witnessed Highly Suspect perform it in 360° video.
This is NME‘s first 360° video, and, judging by how cool it looks, it certainly won’t be the last: check out the interactive clip for yourself below, where you can turn the camera to watch Johnny Stevens and brothers Rich and Ryan Meyer going in hard at their instruments with a simple click-and-hold of your mouse/touchscreen.
Intrigued? You should be – and it won’t be too long until you’ll have the opportunity to see Highly Suspect in the UK, as they’ll be making their UK festival debut at Reading & Leeds in August.
