New Music Of The Day: ZoZo – International Waters (Video)

‘International Waters’ by ZoZo cut through when I first heard it last month, off the back of the band garnering rave reviews at Live At Leeds.

They say it’s about ripping off as many Talking Heads songs as possible, but I can also hear bits of Dexy’s and The Teardrop Explodes too. Now, directed by Slack & Trubble and filmed at Chunk in Leeds, comes the video. According to Fred, their frontman (no surnames here), it “documents every aspect of the production process, from farm to fork”.

In any case, it looks exactly the way a video by a band who bring to mind all those others mentioned previously should:

‘International Waters’ is released on May 27 via Leeds singles club Come Play With Me. It’s a split 7-inch with fellow Leeds/Chunk band Esper Scout on the other side.
