How to watch new Kanye West documentary ‘In Whose Name?’

The film debuted in cinemas in September

Kanye West’s life is examined by a teen filmmaker in the documentary film, In Whose Name.

Directed by Nicolas Ballesteros, the film follows West, aka Ye, over a six-year period, as he navigates his struggles with bipolar disorder, the collapse of his marriage with Kim Kardashian, and his performances with the Sunday Service Choir.

A synopsis reads: “What began as silent observation evolved into a profound journey of artistic and personal growth. Immersed in Ye’s world of extremes, he bore witness to brilliance and breakdowns, triumphs and turmoil; but also observed the paranoia and intensity that increasingly shaped Ye’s world.

“In the end, Ballesteros captured not just a portrait of Ye, but a reflection of the human condition in all its contradictions.”

Alongside West, the film features a wealth of celebrity appearances from US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, Diddy, LeBron James, and the late Charlie Kirk.

In Whose Name? debuted in cinemas on September 19, 2025, before it arrived on streaming services in December.
