Watch a teaser for the first ‘Ghostbusters’ trailer

The first proper trailer will be released in early March

The first trailer for this summer’s eagerly-anticipated Ghostbusters reboot will be released on March 3.

Sony made the announcement in a 30-second teaser for the trailer posted yesterday (February 14). Watch below.

Directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy), the new Ghostbusters movie is set for release this July. It stars Bridesmaids‘s Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy alongside Saturday Night Live‘s Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as part of an ensemble cast.

Chris Hemsworth will appear as the Ghostbusters’ receptionist, while another Saturday Night Live cast member, Neil Casey, has been cast as the main villain. Andy Garcia, The Wire‘s Michael K Williams, Saturday Night Live‘s Cecily Strong and Veep‘s Mike McLintock have also signed up for supporting roles.

Original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will appear in cameo roles. It has also been rumoured that Ozzy Osbourne might be making a guest appearance in the film in a scene set at a heavy metal concert.

Dan Aykroyd said of Feig’s reboot last year: “In a way, his movie might be a little better than the first two because they can do more – CGI might be a little better. But also, you know, there might be more jokes in it. I’m really happy with what I’m seeing.”

Feig co-wrote the script with former Parks And Recreation writer-producer Katie Dippold. Check out the first picture of Chris Hemsworth as the Ghostbusters’ receptionist here.
