The crossover event launched today (January 3) and will run until January 24. During the Squid Game event, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 players can unlock a number of skins and weapons inspired by the hit Netflix show.
They can also take part in a version of Red Light, Green Light. Set in Red Card stadium, the game takes place over three rounds, with each one lasting two-minutes. “In Round One, no one gets a weapon. In Round Two and Three, you can pick up weapons on the ground and eliminate other competitors with melee attacks and Finishing Moves,” reads a dedicated blog. “There’s just one simple rule: When Young-hee says ‘Green Light’, the fight is on. Move a muscle after she says ‘Red Light’ and you’re toast.”
Players can collect piggy banks to boost their score but if they’re too slow, they will be eliminated. A version of the game will also be playable in Zombies while players can buy the Young-hee operator pack from the store.

Other new Squid Game-inspired multiplayer game modes have also been introduced to Black Ops 6. “In Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch, every elimination adds score to the Mega Piggy Bank; fight for possession of the huge payout when it drops part way through the match. In Roulette, one-shot eliminations via the Roulette Handgun award double the points, though with each fired shot there’s a chance it’ll blow up in your hands!”
Squid Game 2 premiered on Netflix December 26 and quickly became the most watched series on the platform, with 68million views in the first 4 days. A third and final season will launch later this year and Netflix recently gave fans a first-look at the next instalment via a creepy trailer.
