Jennifer Lawrence talks auditioning for ‘Twilight’ and reveals which role she was “devastated” about not getting

Lawrence admits she "didn’t really know" what 'Twilight' was

Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about how she auditioned for Twilight, also revealing the one film role she was “devastated” that she didn’t get.

The Red Sparrow star was speaking to Howard Stern this week when she revealed that she auditioned for Twilight but “didn’t really know what it was”.

“When you audition [as] a run of the mill actor, you just get like five pages and they’re like, ‘Act, monkey’,” she explained.

Lawrence continued to say that “when it came out I was like, ‘Hot damn! Woah!'”, although she denies that she was “jealous” at all about not landing the part.

She did, however, admit that she was disappointed at not getting a role in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, saying “that one devastated me.”

This week, Lawrence has opened up about the scenes of nudity in new movie Red Sparrowadmitting that they were an “actual nightmare”.

Last week, Lawrence opened up on the psychological impact of her nude photo leak, which left her dealing with “a long period when I didn’t want to be seen sexually and I didn’t want anybody to see my flesh”.

The star has now told the Today Show in Australia: “It was really scary to say yes to the [Red Sparrow] movie because I knew the only way to tell the story is if I agreed to really do the scenes and go full Monty.

“It took a while to say yes – and the night before I didn’t sleep at all and I was obviously really nervous because it is the actual nightmare of standing in front of a classroom naked. But then after I finished the scene, I felt empowered.”
