The band played the 'This Is All Yours' single on US TV last night (March 31)
Alt-J have appeared on US television, performing their recent single ‘Every Other Freckle’.
The song is lifted from the band’s album ‘This Is All Yours’. Watch the band’s performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon from last night (March 31) beneath.
‘This Is All Yours’, the follow-up to their Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘An Awesome Wave’, recently went gold in the UK, selling over 100,000 copies since its release in September 2014.
Meanwhile, Alt-J have responded to recent criticism from Noel Gallagher, stating that being insulted by the singer is “a rite of passage” and a sign that “they’ve made it”.
In a recent interview, Gallagher admitted that he is a fan of the Alt-J song ‘Left Hand Free’ but that he dislikes the band. “Alt-J can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned. It’s a great tune, and I paid 79 pence for it, but I am in no way a fan of Alt-J.” he said. Focusing in on what annoys him about the band the most, he added: “One of them’s got a moustache, and that’s unacceptable.”
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Alt-J’s Gus Unger-Hamilton has revealed that the band see it as “a rite of passage to get a pasting from [Noel Gallagher]”.
Unger-Hamilton added: “Well, I think I said that we’d know we had made it when we were slagged off by Noel Gallagher, so there you go.”
Alt-J and Noel Gallagher will both be headlining this year’s Latitude festival. The line-up, which was announced yesterday, is also made up of third headliners Portishead, as well as The Vaccines, James Blake, Manic Street Preachers, Caribou, Wild Beasts and others.
