Tame Impala, Miles Kane and Royal Blood will provide support at gigs
Arctic Monkeys have announced that they will play two huge outdoor shows in London’s Finsbury Park next May.
Earlier this month, frontman Alex Turner had hinted that the Sheffield band were interested in playing their own outdoor gigs in 2014 following their headline slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Now, they have issued a statement on their official website confirming that they will play Finsbury Park on Friday May 23 and Saturday May 24, with support to come from Tame Impala, Miles Kane and Royal Blood.
Tickets for the event, which is only for fans aged 16 and over, are limited to four per household and will go on sale on Friday November 22 at £55. For more information, visit Arcticmonkeys.com.
Earlier this month, Arctic Monkeys were announced as the first headliners for Portugal’s Optimus Alive festival, which takes place in Lisbon on July 10, and also confirmed details of their biggest ever US show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The band will tour the US in February, starting in Miami on January 30 and visiting 12 cities in total, ending in Minneapolis on February 14. Deerhunter will provide support for the New York and Boston dates.
The band were recently forced to pull a series of shows due to frontman Alex Turner’s laryngitis. They have recheduled dates in Glasgow, Birmingham and Sheffield due to illness.
Arctic Monkeys’ show on Saturday (November 2) in Sheffield has now been moved to November 18. Their postponed their Glasgow Hydro show, which was originally set for Friday November 1 will now take place on November 21. Their Birmingham LG Arena show, originally planned for October 31, will now take place on November 20.
