Liam Gallagher: ‘I’d love to get The Stone Roses back together’

Beady Eye singer also says he rates Lady Gaga and doesn’t mind Jedward

Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has revealed that he’d love to see The Stone Roses reform and “make a shitload of money”.

The singer, who was speaking to Shortlist, said that the band should get back together to play live shows and record a new album.

He also said that he was fond of pop stars such as Lady Gaga, and even revealed that he didn’t mind former X-Factor twins Jedward.

Asked what his views were on a possible reunion for The Stone Roses, Gallagher said: “I’d love the Roses to get back, play that album and make a shitload of money for themselves, because I’m sure they didn’t make that much [before]. Do some great fucking gigs, see what the reaction is and go make a new record.

“We come on to ‘I Am The Resurrection’ at all of our gigs and the crowd go nuts. Apparently, Ian Brown’s worried about singing but he wouldn’t even have to — we’d sing it for him.”

Rumours of a Stone Roses reunion were reported earlier this year, before bassist Mani refuted them as being “total fantasy island”.

Gallagher also revealed that he was a fan of Lady Gaga, adding: “I fucking like her, man. Some of it’s bordering on ridiculous, but she brings it back around again because she can sing, she can dance, she’s out there taking chances and she’s not like all the other girl acts.” When asked for his opinion on Jedward, he answered: “I don’t mind them little fuckers. They don’t take themselves too seriously, do they?”

Beady Eye are currently playing their first ever US tour, which saw Gallagher miss his brother Noel‘s wedding to Sara MacDonald on Saturday (June 18). They return to the UK at the end of August to play Reading And Leeds Festivals.
