Black Box Recorder achieved their highest chart position ever this weekend when their new single ‘THE FACTS OF LIFE’ entered the UK charts at number 20 – four places higher than R Kelly, and eleven places higher than STING.
The single is the first to be taken from the band’s second album, also called ‘The Facts Of Life’, which is released on May 1 through Nude Records.
The man behind the band Luke Haines has been in the music business now for eight years, previously under the critically-acclaimed guises of The Auteurs and The Baader Meinhof. However, this is his biggest commercial hit to date – and they’re even set to appear on BBC1’s Top Of The Pops this Friday.
See nme.com later this week for our exclusive video interview with Luke, John Moore and Sarah Nixey aka Black Box Recorder where they talk about their new found chart success.
Black Box Recorder also mark the release of their album, the follow-up to ‘England Made Me’ with a handful of UK dates in May, calling at London Union Chapel (May 15), Oxford Zodiac (16), Manchester University (17) and Bristol Fleece & Firkin (18).
