BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN debuted a new track ‘MY CITY OF RUINS’ during both of his two charity fundraising shows in his native ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY on Sunday and Monday night (December 17, 18).
The track, which on Sunday he dedicated to Kate Mellina of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, started with Springsteen alone on piano before bringing in horns and a refrain of ‘Come on, rise up’.
Each of the shows were laced with old favourites and seasonal songs and according to reputable Springsteen fansite [url=]www.backstreets.com, was rounded off each night with his rousing version of ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’.
During last night’s show (December 18), Springsteen also opened with a brief acoustic set of Hank Williams covers, including ‘Jambalaya (On the Bayou)’.
Joining The Boss onstage were his E Street Band and by The Max Weinberg 7 – the house band on US television network talk show ‘Late Night With Conan O’Brien’.
Eight local charities benefited from the events.
