TWIN SET

The indie darlings are the subject of an 18-track retrospective...

Cocteau Twins are set to release a best of album, ‘STARS AND TOPSOILS, A COLLECTION (1982-1990)’, during October.

The 18-track CD, released on October 16 through 4AD, spans the sometime trio’s eight years with the influential label.

Throughout the decade Cocteau Twins’ unique sound – a mixture of Liz Fraser’s fragile, almost unintelligible vocals, Robin Guthrie’s delicate guitar and Simon Raymonde’s deep bass – came to characterise what was known as “the 4AD sound”.
