Song expected to be premiered in full tomorrow

A preview of Coldplay‘s new track ‘Atlas’ from the forthcoming Hunger Games soundtrack has surfaced online.

You can hear a 90-second snippet of the song by clicking here, while a message posted on Coldplay’s official Twitter account suggests that the song will receive its full premiere tomorrow. You can read the message below:

‘Atlas’ is set to be the first song released from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, and also marks the first time that Coldplay have ever recorded an original song for a film. The follow-up to 2012’s The Hunger Games, meanwhile, will be released in cinemas worldwide on November 22. Arcade Fire and Taylor Swift were among the artists who featured on the soundtrack for the first movie.

“I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film,” said director Francis Lawrence. “Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can’t wait to share this music with audiences around the world.”

Earlier this summer, Coldplay’s drummer Will Champion also made a cameo in the fantasy series Game Of Thrones. The sticksman appears briefly as a drummer in a rowdy banquet scene, which you can watch below.

Coldplay wrapped up their last world tour in New York on New Year’s Eve (2012) and are now believed to be working on their sixth album. Their last LP, ‘Mylo Xyloto’, came out in October 2011 and went on to sell over eight million copies worldwide.
