Drake could be ready to release another record as soon as he signs a new record deal, according to reports.
The Toronto rapper is currently signed to Young Money/Cash Money, but is rumoured to be at the end of his deal after he rapped on recent track ‘Is There More’: “Soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal.“
Now, according to Variety, Drake already has another album ready to release as soon as he signs his next deal. A source told the website the star would put out another project when he announced his new label home.
Drake only just released a record, with double album ‘Scorpion‘ dropping last month (June 29). The 25-track LP has broken several charts since its release, including being the first album to surpass 1 billion streams in a week. The previous record-holder on that front was Post Malone, who clocked up 700 million streams.
This weekend (July 8), Drake was a surprise replacement for DJ Khaled at London’s Wireless Festival. During his set, the Canadian star duetted with Giggs on ‘KMT’ and performed ‘Nonstop’, ‘I’m Upset’ and ‘Nice For What’ live for the first time. It was reported that Drake was originally meant to appear as a guest in Giggs’ set.
Drake is still in the UK at present and shared a message of support for the England football team when he was stopped by reporters at Wimbledon. What’s up, this is Drake, wishing England good luck,” he said. “You know what time it is… come on England!” England play Croatia in the semi-final of the World Cup tomorrow (July 11).
