The 2001 Silver Lining Silver Lake aims to raise funds for a free clinic in the LA area...

ELTON JOHN, STING, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and JURASSIC 5 are all set to perform at the 2001 SILVER LINING SILVER LAKE music festival in CALIFORNIA in December.

The three-day event is a benefit to raise funds for the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic, an organisation that offers medical services free of charge to those in need in the Los Angeles area. The event follows last year’s one-day benefit, which featured performances by Beck and Aimee Mann, amongst others, and raised nearly $500,000 for the clinic.

Both Sting and Elton John will perform on the benefit’s first night, December 13, which will be hosted by actor Robert Downey Jr.

Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jurassic 5 will be joined by DJ Keoki, Latin rock act Jaguares, and a return performance from Mann on December 14, during an evening co-hosted by US MTV personality Johnny Knoxville, skateboard legend Tony Hawk and others.

The final night of the benefit, December 15, will feature another

performance from Jaguares, and will be hosted by actor Benicio del Toro.

The festival will take place at The Paramour Estate in Silver Lake, California, where last year’s benefit was held, and at the Hollywood Palladium. Tickets for the first two nights of the event will be available through Ticketmaster beginning on November 3 and range in price from $250-$1000. Tickets for the final night, priced at a more affordable $75-$150, go on sale on November 10.
