SINEAD O’CONNOR, ELTON JOHN duetting with RONAN KEATING, SAMANTHA MUMBA, DAVID GRAY, JJ72 and ASH are among the artists set to perform at the METEOR IRISH MUSIC AWARDS in DUBLIN next Friday (March 16).
Also appearing at the show, to be held in the city’s Point Depot, will be Morcheeba, Gabrielle, Jonathan Wilkes and recent UK chart-toppers Atomic Kitten. The event is being billed as a show to honour the best in homegrown and international talent, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the AIDS alliance and the IMRA Trust, an organisation that looks after the interests of Irish musicians.
Gongs on the night will be awarded for Best Selling Single and Album, Best Selling Artists, Best Live Act and Critics’ Choice, with special awards for Humanitarian, Industry and Lifetime Achievements, among others.
Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey, former Formula 1 motoring racing ace Damon Hill, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and Rick Savage and Lisa Stansfield are among those who will present awards.
