Harry Styles runs Berlin Marathon in under three hours

He was pictured at the finish line with Paralympian Richard Whitehead

Harry Styles ran the Berlin Marathon in under three hours over the weekend.

The solo pop star and former One Direction member was spotted participating in the event yesterday (Sunday September 21), with images and footage later emerging online.

According to Billboard, local newspaper Der Tagesspiegel was the first to report on Styles’ involvement. Organisers subsequently confirmed to news agency DPA that the singer took part.

The ‘Harry’s House’ artist reportedly entered the Berlin Marathon under the pseudonym Sted Sarandos, and sported a headband and sunglasses. He completed the route in two hours, 59 minutes and 13 seconds.

A sub-three-hour marathon time is a coveted mark for many runners. This year’s winner, Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe, completed the route in two hours, two minutes and 16 seconds.

Styles posed for a photo at the finish line with Richard Whitehead, who has won two gold medals at the Paralympic Games. The double through-knee amputee is currently on a challenge to run 20 marathons in 2025 – which would bring his total to 100.

Sharing a photo of himself and Styles on Instagram, Whitehead wrote: “2.58 in Berlin with my mate!! Anyone know him!! 😂 #berlinmarathon.” Check out the posts below.

Der Tagesspiegel reported that Styles had previously been seen running in Berlin in preparation for yesterday’s marathon.

Earlier this year, Styles ran the Tokyo Marathon in under three-and-a-half hours. His personal trainer, Thibo David, previously said that the star was able to run a five-minute mile.

“Collaborating with Harry Styles was an absolute delight. His commitment is unparalleled,” he told Coach magazine in January 2024.

In May, Styles was spotted among the crowds in the Vatican City to witness the election of the new Pope.

The singer released his third and latest solo album, ‘Harry’s House’, in 2022. In a four-star review, NME wrote: “The musician’s third album feels like a magical thing – a record that you want to take up residence in until you know its every nook and cranny in minute detail.”
