Jamie T to play London acoustic show for charity

The show will include performances of 'unreleased songs which no one has heard before'

Jamie T has announced a special London acoustic show for June.

The singer-songwriter will play a stripped-back set at London’s Hackney Empire on June 12, with proceeds going to the Lullaby Trust Charity, an organisation that aims to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health.

“As something he’s wanted to do for a while,” the singer said of the show. “After a year of touring and playing as loud as we possibly can I wanted to try something different.”

“The setlist will also include songs I don’t usually get a chance to play live,” he continued. “There will be songs from the albums and EPs, covers, as well as some unreleased songs which no one has heard before.”

Tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday (April 17) at 10am.

Jamie T returned last year after an absence of almost five years, to release his acclaimed third album ‘Carry On The Grudge’. In support of the album, the singer played a series of live shows that included two sold-out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace.

The singer won three awards at the NME Awards 2015 with Austin, Texas, picking up the prize for Music Moment of the Year for his 2014 comeback, in addition to winning Best Track supported by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Best Video for ‘Zombie’ earlier in the evening.
