Kanye West reportedly wants Will Ferrell to make his biopic

The rapper is “in talks” with the comedy actor and his creative partner Adam McKay.

Kanye West has reportedly been in talks with Will Ferrell to turn his life story into a movie.

The 39-year-old rapper has been an outspoken fan of Ferrell’s work, previously describing him as one of his “personal gods” and even suggesting that he’d like the comedy actor to play him in a biopic.

A friend of West has revealed that the collaboration might actually become a reality, telling the Daily Star: “He has been thinking about this for a long, long time and he has been trading ideas with Will.”

“Rather than take himself too seriously, he feels it has to be a comedy and not a preachy film,” they added.

Ferrell’s longtime collaborator and The Big Short director Adam McKay has also reportedly expressed an interest in working on the project.

West has previously likened himself to Ferrell’s character in 2003’s Elf and effusively praised the comedian on social media.

“I just want to thank Will Ferrell for the years of joy he has brought into my life with amazing comedy,” West wrote earlier this year.
