New Zealand singer also shares her top ten tracks of 2013
Lorde caused video website Vevo to crash last night (November 3) when she revealed the video for her new single ‘Team’.
The video, which you can see above now, was unveiled by the teenage singer and immediately saw the video site struggling to cope with the sudden rush of traffic sent their way by fans trying to watch the video. The video is set in a dystopian like future in which Lorde is leader and people stage jousting battles on the back of motorbikes.
Tweeting her fans after hearing about the issues with Vevo, Lorde wrote: “Omg you crashed vevo! I think you’re all overloading the video. Let it breathe!”.
‘Team’ is Lorde’s follow up single to ‘Royals’ and is taken from the New Zealand teenager’s debut album ‘Pure Heroine’, released earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter has also released a list of her favourite songs of the year. Kanye West, Daft Punk, newcomers Jungle and Majical Cloudz all feature on the list, which was selected for Australian radio station Triple J and can be seen in full below.
It was recently announced that Lorde had signed a $2.5 million (£1.56m) publishing deal with Songs Music Publishing. The teenager, now 17, was originally handed a development deal by Virgin Records after the label saw a video of her performing at a talent school.
