The singer-songwriter joins the Hartnoll brothers on 'The Altogether'...

ORBITAL release a new single, ‘FUNNY BREAK (ONE IS ENOUGH)’ , and a new album in April featuring a collaboration with DAVID GRAY, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The single is released through FFrr/London on April 2, followed by Orbital’s sixth album, ‘The Altogether’ on April 16. A UK tour has also been confirmed for May.

Paul Hartnoll told NME.COM: “‘The Altogether’ is about being in the nude really. Naked, exposed. I think it’s a nice open album this one. There’s 11 tracks – I don’t think we’ve done that since our first album. This album’s a lot more jaunty, more cartoon like – I keep calling it cartoon skiffle.”

‘The Altogether’ was recorded at the Strong Room in London and co-produced by Mickey Mann. The tracklisting is:

‘Pay Per View’

‘Last Thing’

‘Funny Break (One Is Enough)’

‘Doctor Who’

‘Waving Not Drowning’

Ian Dury’s ‘Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick’ and actor Tom Baker have been sampled on ‘Oi!’ and ‘Shadows’ respectively, while singer-songwriter David Gray sang on a track which has the unconfirmed title ‘Illuminate’.

‘The Altogether’ will be released on CD and two LPs, while ‘Funny Break (One Is Enough)’ is released on two CDs, featuring remixes by Layo & Bushwacka and Plump DJs. Orbital also plan to release a DVD of new material later this year.
