Big Boi reveals solo and new OutKast album plans

Rapper says both records are on the way

Rapper Big Boi has confirmed that he is set to release a solo album soon – and that it will be followed by a new Outkast effort with his bandmate Andre 3000.

The star told that his album will be named ‘Sir Lucious Leftfoot: Son of Chico Dusty’, and that its lead single will be named ‘Looking for You’. The song will feature Andre 3000, and has been produced by Erick Sermon.

Big Boi said that his album would be released “in a few months”.

Speaking about the Outkast album that would follow it, he added: “For all you Outkast lovers, the album is coming. I’m tired of talking about it, and know y’all are tired of hearing me talk about it. But it’s coming, and the album is fire!”

Big Boi revealed that production team Organized Noise had “done the first couple of beats off there”, and also said that he had been helping Dr Dre out with his forthcoming album, ‘Detox’.

“We got Dre working on his solo so we’re going to help him tighten that up,” he said.

Outkast‘s last album release was the 2003 double album, ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’.

Finally, Big Boi said that yet another album he was working on was a new effort by his rap troupe Goodie Mob.

“Then we got the Goodie Mob album coming, and then the Cee-Lo [Green, Gnarls Barkley member and one-time member of the Mob]-Goodie album so it’s [Atlanta music collective] Dungeon Family for life!” he said.
