Former Libs man also dedicates new song to Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty has said he has played his last gig for a “long time” after a recent performance at London‘s O2 Brixton Academy.

The former Libertines man revealed to the crowd at the weekend (September 23) that he was going to disappear for a while before revealing a new song dedicated to Amy Winehouse. Watch footage of Doherty performing his new song by scrolling down and clicking below.

He also dedicated the show to late film-maker Robin Whitehead, who died at the flat of a friend of the former Libertines man last year.

“This will be the last gig in a long time because we need to go and get some new things together so this is it for a while,” he said. “I want to dedicate this show to the memory of Robin Whitehead and Amy Winehouse, two good friends of mine. Here’s a song I wrote for Amy.”

He recently covered Winehouse’s ‘Tears Dry On Their Own’ at the Reading And Leeds Festivals.
