SLIPKNOT’S SHAWN CRAHAN – ON THE COUCH gets the masked nu-metaller, aka No. 6, strapped down and probes him. Deeply...

SHAWN CRAHAN (AKA No. 6) from Slipknot On The Couch

What song describes you best?

“‘Shattered And Torn’. I wrote most of the lyrics so it describes me well.”

What is heaven?

“Being dead.”

What is hell?

“Probably being alive.”

What’s your earliest memory?

“Being electrocuted when I was a kid. I had a frisbee that I used as a steering wheel and I found this pin that I thought was a key. So I started looking for a hole to put the key in and there was a socket next to my toy chest. I just remember my arm being nearly torn apart.”

What’s your greatest fear?

“Being in some scary, horrible fucked-up relationship. You know, something very backward and dysfunctional. I’m not going to say whether that’s from personal experience or not!”

Who is your all-time hero?

“The women in my life. My grandmother, my mum, my wife, my daughters. And also my boy.”

What’s the worst trouble you’ve been in?

“Let’s just that I’ve never been arrested, but I’ve been evaluated.”

Who was the first love of your life?

“Probably a childish school thing. You know, where you pass notes and talk on the phone. I wouldn’t even be able to remember her name now.”

What’s your greatest talent?

“Being able to make things happen. If I want to do something I know that it will happen and I don’t need to think about wanting it too much.”

Upon whom would you most like to exact revenge?

“Well, I’d swap ‘revenge’ with who I’d like to meet. And I’d like to meet the guys from Limp Bizkit to converse with them and then either congratulate or conquer.”

What can you cook?

“My wife likes my spaghetti sauce and I make really good turkey burgers.”

What’s your most treasured possession?

“My wedding ring. Two years ago, I got into a fight with the producer and I took my wedding ring off and lost it. Then just a couple of weeks ago we made up, and I found my wedding ring straight away. The reason it’s special is because my wife made it for me and I wouldn’t feel complete without it.”

Can you read music? “Yeah. Not real fluid but I can do it.”

What have you most regretted doing while drunk?

“I’ve been sober for two years because I have an alter ego when I’m drunk that people don’t like to be around much.”

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

“Every luxury has a price. My father told me that.”

If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?

“I’d just go to lots of public places naked. Like a shopping mall. Or maybe church.”

What are your three final wishes?

“To have a million more wishes. To live ’til the end of the world. And to be happy!”
