Kevin Hart took on Stormzy in a rap battle with NWA’s Ice Cube judging the clash.
Ice Cube and Hart are currently promoting their new film Ride Along 2 and met with Stormzy to test Hart’s grime skills. After impressing with a freestyle over JME’s ‘Serious’ beat, the stand-up and actor said: “I’m just a guy who does everything, I’m a renaissance man.”
However, Stormzy came back with an inspired verse of his own leaving Ice Cube to judge the winner. Watch the clip below.
Meanwhile, Ice Cube recently revealed plans to reunite the living members of NWA at this year’s Coachella festival.
The rapper is listed on the line-up for this year’s event as a solo artist, alongside headlibers Guns N’ Roses, Calvin Harris and LCD Soundsystem. However, in an interview interview this week, he promised that his set will feature much more.
“I’ve got some tricks up my sleeves … I’m gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A. together. Give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A., West Side Connection, everything I’ve been doing over the years,” he said.
He then added that his set will include “some great visuals.”. Some reports suggest this means the late Eazy-E may come back in hologram form.
NWA will also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year (April 8).
