Take That’s ‘futuristic’ ‘Progress’ tour to cost £50 million

Singers' production will also feature Robbie Williams solo spot

Take That’s forthcoming ‘Progress’ tour is reportedly set to cost upwards of £50 million to stage.

According to Daily Mirror the show will see the band echo the ‘sci-fi pop’ of some of their recent material. The theme is thought to be futuristic – a casting sheet leaked in February suggested a Back To The Future-inspired look.

A source told the paper: “If you think flying machines, robots, space and futuristic landscapes, you won’t be too far off the mark. It will be a massive no-expense-spared production – with the costs of staging it likely to run close to 50 million [pounds].”

The show will see Robbie Williams getting his own portion of the show to perform his solo hits.”Robbie has been given a large slot in the middle of the show where he’ll sing lots of his solo stuff – with the rest of the band nowhere to be seen,” said the source.

The tour kicks off in Sunderland on May 27 and continues throughout the spring and summer.
