Jobs will provide the keynote address at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference next Monday (June 6), where he is expected to reveal details about the new service.

Although very few details about iCloud have been released so far, it has been suggested that it will effectively provide an upgrade on iTunes by allowing users to stream music directly and without having to store it on a specific handset.

Apple have also reportedly gained the backing of the major record labels for their venture, with The Guardian claiming that they had agreed deals with Sony, EMI and Warner Music and were close to finalising a deal with Universal.

Google and Amazon, who also recently introduced rival services, were forced to launch without the backing of major labels after they failed to reach a similar agreement.
