Peter Jackson will once again direct the 16 year-old
Saoirse Ronan has signed on to play an as-yet-undisclosed role in The Hobbit.
Peter Jackson directed the 16 year-old young star as the lead in The Lovely Bones in 2009, an adaptation of the Alice Sebold novel.
The film’s casting director Ros Hubbard told IFTN: “Working with Peter Jackson is like working with a family. So they’ll have a great time.”
She added: “Saoirse‘s family will go too [to New Zealand, where both parts of the film are being shot]. Everyone is very close and very loving on those sorts of jobs. It’s not like typical studio movies at all.”
Peter Jackson was recently taken to hospital recently for surgery, delaying production on the Lord Of The Rings prequel film.
Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen are among the cast members of the movie.
