Tim Burton writing ‘Stainboy’ stories via Twitter

Cult director sources fan input from social networking site

Tim Burton is using Twitter to find inspiration for his old creation, the Stainboy character.

Stainboy first appeared in 1997 children’s book The Melancholy Death Of Oyster Boy & Other Stories, which Burton co-wrote with Michael McDowell. He also cropped up in his own series in 2000 called The World Of Stainboy.

Now the director has invited his followers to craft a new story for the character. From now until December 6, the best tweets sent to Burton‘s Twitter account, Twitter.com/burtonstory each day will be used to continue Stainboy‘s adventures.
