Lou Reed and Ringo Starr were among those celebrated at Saturday night’s Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony. Like last year’s event, which saw Nirvana “reform”, fronted by St Vincent and other stars in lieu of Kurt Cobain, it was pretty star-studded. Stevie Wonder, Beck, Green Day, Paul McCartney and more all made appearances, while David Bowie sent a message in honouring former Velvet Undergrounder Reed. Here’s the best pics from the night…
Stevie Wonder performed 'Ain't No Sunshine' alongside inductee Bill Withers. Withers did not perform at the ceremony - he recently told Rolling Stone he can't remember when he last sang live, "probably" some time in the 1980s.
While giving his acceptance speech, Withers asked the TV crew to turn off the teleprompter as he was going "off script". Stevie Wonder joked that he hadn't used it either.
