Shockwaves NME Awards 2010 – nominations revealed

Nominations for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2010 have been announced. And vying for the title of Best British Band are Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Muse and Oasis. Oasis will be looking to claim the award for a second year running. Cast your vote here. Pic: Dean Chalkley

The awards, which take place in London on February 24, see Kings Of Leon and Vampire Weekend once again nominated for Best International Band. Competing with them are Paramore, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Green Day. Last year’s winner: The Killers. Pic: Dean Chalkley

Florence And The Machine’s remarkable year continues with a Best Track nomination for ‘Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)’. Also battling for the accolade will be Animal Collective (‘My Girl’), Arctic Monkeys (‘Crying Lightning’), Jamie T (‘Sticks N Stones’) and The Big Pink (‘Dominos’). Up for Best DVD this year are Kings Of Leon’s ‘Live At The O2′, The Killers’ ‘Live From The Royal Albert Hall’, and Nirvana’s ‘Live At Reading’. Competing with them will be Flight Of The Conchords’ Complete HBO Second Season, and The Mighty Boosh’s Live – Future Sailors Tour . Last year’s winner: Arctic Monkeys, ‘Live At The Apollo’.

The category for Best TV Show sees nominations again for Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Skins. Rivalling them for the title this year will be True Blood, Peep Show and The Inbetweeners. Vote for your favourite here. Last year’s winner: The Mighty Boosh.
