Martin Garrix has been named as the world’s best DJ.
The Dutch DJ was given the accolade by DJ Magazine, with over a million votes cast in their poll.
Garrix is only 20-years-old, but began DJing aged eight after seeing Tiesto perform at the Olympic Games opening ceremony in Athens. Tiesto presented Garrix with his prize at Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall.
Garrix, whose hits include ‘Animals’ and ‘In The Name Of Love’, had finished third in last year’s poll. 2015 winner Dimitri Vegas And Like Mike were second, ahead of Hardwell in third.
Masked DJ Marshemllo is the highest new entry in the poll, placed at No 28. His identity is secret, though it’s rumoured Marshmello is the alias of American DJ Chris Comstock.

The highest climber is Russian trio Swanky Tunes, climbing 70 places to No 27, while The Chainsmokers are a re-entry at No 18 following their successful year.
There are no female DJs in the poll’s Top 40, with Australian duo Nervo the only women in the Top 50, at No 45.
DJ Magazine’s poll also saw little British representation. Calvin Harris is down three to No 14 and trance trio Above And Beyond down 18 to No 47.
