Foals have revealed the cover artwork for their ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2’ album – check it out below.
The Oxford band are set to release their fifth LP, ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1‘, next Friday (March 8). Yannis and co. have previewed the first of two scheduled records for 2019 with the singles ‘Exits’, ‘On The Luna’, and ‘Sunday‘.
Now, during a video showing the group unboxing a vinyl copy of the album, the band offer a glimpse at the artwork for part 2 of the project.
While flicking through pages of ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’, Yannis Philippakis stops midway, saying: “Right that’s where we’re going to end because the rest of it is album 2.” After drummer Jack Bevan explains that the LP is coming out soon, the band enter “exclusive territory” of its upcoming follow-up.
The new artwork, shot by Maggie Steber, is featured on the reverse side of next week’s ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ booklet. “In the box, it goes from album one – which is the first half into the booklet – which goes into album two artwork,” Philippakis explains.
The video also shows pages of lyrics for album 2 tracks, which are presented backwards “so you don’t get all of your presents at once”, with the singer saying that part 2’s picture disc can be slotted in following its later release.
Meanwhile, Foals will welcome the release of the first instalment of ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ with a short run of tiny UK shows next week, with appearances in Manchester, Edinburgh and London. The band will return for a full UK arena tour this June.
