Here’s how to know when Tyler, The Creator is about to drop new music

"So um..."

Tyler, The Creator fans have worked out when to anticipate new music from the Odd Future rapper.

Tyler has been gracing fans with a flurry of new music in recent weeks, sharing a new song called ‘Okra’ last month, the 20th Century Women-referencing ‘Red Tinted Cheeks’ this week, as well as a remix of Drake and Trouble’s ‘Bring It Back’.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that prior to two of the releases, Tyler took to Twitter to write “So um”, before eventually sharing the track in question.

Yesterday (April 18), Tyler used the precursor before dropping ‘Red Tinted Cheeks’, which he said was a song leftover from the ‘Flower Boy’ sessions that he “never finished or went back to”.

However, Tyler didn’t give fans any forewarning when releasing ‘Okra’ in March. He simply tweeted at the time: “OKRA”, with a link to the track.

Taking to Twitter this week, Tyler said of ‘Rose Tinted Cheeks’: “I’ve had [it] laying around and figured I just put it out as the demo/ rough draft,” explaining: “It is not really mixed or anything.”

Tyler also noted how the vocals for the hook would have been re-recorded by “a girl who could actually sing”, saying that he “wishes” he had finished the track.
