Tom Morello was joined by his son Roman for a string of songs at a show in India last week – check out footage below.
The former Rage Against The Machine guitarist played the last of a trio of dates in the country last week (December 21) when he took to the stage at Phoenix Marketcity in Bangalore.
In a set that saw him play music from across his career, including big tunes from RATM and Audioslave, he was also joined by his 14-year-old son Roman for a version of their 2024 collaborative single ‘Soldier In The Army Of Love’.
Roman also joined his father for covers of Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Mr. Crowley’ and Steve Vai’s ‘For The Love Of God’, and he returned once again for a show-closing run of ‘Killing In The Name’, John Lennon’s ‘Power To The People’ and KISS’ ‘Rock And Roll All Nite’.

Last year, Tom Morello told NME about making ‘Soldier In The Army Of Love’ with Roman. “It’s a collaboration with my 13-year-old son, Roman,” he explained. “During the pandemic, while the rest of us were baking bread and trying to learn a language, he was practising guitar for eight hours a day. I’ve been relegated to being the rhythm guitar player in my family as I have a shredding prodigy now who’s really giving me a run for my money.”
“One day I was walking by his room and these huge drop-D riffs were coming out of there and I said ‘What’s that’ and he said ‘Oh, I’ve just been working on some riffs, do you think these go well together?’. I was like ‘Son. Those go very well together and we’re about to write our first song together.’”
“So ‘Soldier In The Army Of Love’ is about the redemptive power of rock and roll. It’s got huge Morello riffs from multi-generations and a shredding guitar solo where you have to guess which one of us played.”
In other news, Morello recently teamed up with Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo for the politically-charged Final Fantasy 14 anthem ‘Everything Burns’.
