Cult show will air on Channel 4 this June
Channel 4’s much loved late-night programme Eurotrash is set to return after nearly a decade for a one-off special ahead of the EU referendum.
The cult show, hosted by presenter Antoine de Caunes and fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier (until the seventh series), will be revived for a special Brexit edition on the eve of the referendum vote (June 22).
A press release confirms that both presenters will return for the episode to remind their “straight-laced British chums” of the “many, varied and occasionally alarming cultural delights enjoyed by our European cousins”.
It adds that the show will feature a number of “crazy continentals” from across Europe, hoping to remind British people that “without them, we really are just a very sad and insignificant little island with bad food and terrible teeth”.
Tim Carter of Twenty Twenty Productions, the company behind the show, says of the news: “Eurotrash is the reason most of us work in telly! I’m sure when it comes to the [EU] referendum, it will be Eurotrash what wins it… for which side is anyone’s guess.”
