Megan Thee Stallion has teamed up with Maroon 5 to release the collaborative single ‘Beautiful Mistakes’.
Both artists confirmed the single’s release date last week (February 22), after Maroon 5 had dropped hints about a forthcoming collab throughout February. It marks the first time Megan and Maroon 5 have linked up in the recording studio.
The track arrives with a lyric video that takes visual cues from graphic novels. Watch it below:
Megan Thee Stallion released her first original track of 2021 in February. ‘I’m A King’, which features Dallas rapper Bobby Sessions, is set to appear on the soundtrack for the forthcoming film Coming 2 America.
Earlier this week, the film’s star, Eddie Murphy, rejected speculation that he might one day appear on a song with Megan Thee Stallion.
“Megan Thee Stallion? I’m 59, I can’t be doing nothing with no Megan Thee Stallion. You know how crazy I would look doing something with Megan Thee Stallion?” Murphy said, laughing.
Idris Elba recently teased that he would be collaborating with Megan and Davido in the near future, calling the trio’s track “bit of a banger” during a radio appearance.
To celebrate her 26th birthday on February 15, Megan released ‘Southside Forever Freestyle’, a track in which the rapper declares herself “the hardest in Houston”.
Prior to that, she guested on the official remix of Ariana Grande’s track ‘34+35’, alongside Doja Cat. The trio of artists dropped a music video for the remix last month.
Meanwhile, ’Beautiful Mistakes’ is Maroon 5’s first release since 2020’s ‘Nobody’s Love’, which featured Popcaan. In January, the band’s frontman, Adam Levine, teamed up with Jason Derulo on the single ‘Lifestyle’.
