NME teamed up with University of Salford and youth initiative Create Jobs to lay on a #Lifehacks event in London on November 23.
The aim of the event, held at the atmospheric Islington Metal Works venue, was to inform and inspire young people starting out in the creative industries.
The event was headlined by Chelsea footballer Eni Aluko and Mercury Prize-nominated hip-hop artist Loyle Carner, who joined forces for an “in conversation” panel discussing their career journeys so far.
Other panels featured insights from leading creatives including MOBO founder Kanya King MBE, Universal Music UK’s Jonathan Badyal, writer and broadcaster Paris Lees, and University of Salford lecturers Dr. Kirsty Fairclough and Lyndon Saunders.
There were also an array of activities and workshops including University of Salford’s interactive Game Lab challenge and an insight into sustainable fashion organised by the charity TRAID. The event culminated in a secret gig from rising star Tom Grennan. Here is the full story of the event in one handy supercut video.
